Wigan Carpet Cleaners

Our carpet cleaner in Wigan has been providing carpet and upholstery services to both domestic and commercial clients for over twenty years. I have trained to exceptional standards, qualifying with the NCCA and IICRC certifications.

Through this training, we learn about various methods, chemicals, machinery, and valuable tricks of the trade. However, the most significant lessons come from the hands-on experience we have gained over the years.

Nothing phases us—we have encountered it all. Our preferred method of cleaning is steam extraction. While our machinery is powerful, it is essential to understand carpet construction and the types of fibers involved.

This knowledge influences how we proceed, including the chemicals we use, water pressure, and heat settings. For example, natural yarns are treated differently than synthetic ones.

Before we begin any work, we conduct a thorough survey to identify marks, materials, and fitting. Using top-quality cleaning chemicals, we effectively break down grease, dirt, and odors.

The heat from our process eliminates unseen elements like bacteria, dust mites, and allergens. We typically set the water pressure to around 350 psi, assisted by H2O(g)

We employ small wet and dry strokes as we work backward, continually checking our progress. For more challenging issues, we have specific solutions tailored to address those problems. In the images shown, you can see examples of our work and the results we achieve.

Stain Removal

These come in various forms, from customer DIY attempts using shop products to drink, food, and body spillages.

Our skills like to be tested and most of the time we can remove the most common problems.

The more troublesome issues may require using oxidising solutions to repair.

Blood removal

This is contamination. When dealing with this, we always wear PPE equipment.

Please don’t attempt this removal with shop products. If you do, this could be sealed in and become permanent.

When we tackle this type of problem, we will always flush the area with cold water. Numerous high-pressure passes. This allows us to see the colour left and the item we should use to try to remove it.

Once done, we will then sanitise the area. What generally happens is that the customer will ask us to clean the whole room just to be safe.

Diarrhea and excrement

It happens. Be it human or animal. We receive lots of calls to sort this out. Please don’t be embarrassed and don’t try to resolve this yourself without professional help.

All we ask is to pick up the solids and we will do the rest.

Urine

Normally pet accidents. The lingering odour and marks this biological product creates can be nauseous.

We also have levels with this.

Simple flush

Using products designed for such incidents

Replacing the underlay

Vomit

Again, not nice when it happens. It’s that lingering smell that gets you.

What is projected comes in all colours and smells.

This is an emergency, and we will get to it on the same day as your call.

Renting a Machine

If you are considering hiring a carpet cleaning machine , please head with caution.

Whilst trying to do it yourself may seem like a cheaper alternative, one needs to ask if it worth it.

First, the actual machine is poor.

Delivery of water is a maximum of 30psi if you’re lucky.

The vacuum is small and has its limitations.

Products you can buy are of poor quality. We don’t use shampoo. Our stock is alkaline, acids, and gels.

The results will be poor. How do I know?

I fix around 2 jobs a week. The carpet or sofa still looks dirty, it smells, and is still damp three days later.

And when we try to help, the cost is dramatically more than what our original quotation is.

A client received a sofa that was in poor condition. They had attempted to clean it themselves using various shop products, but the situation only worsened. After being contacted, I conducted an initial survey via a WhatsApp video call, during which I confirmed a date and price for the cleaning service.

Upon arrival, the only aspect I couldn’t assess was the smell, which was musty and had hints of smoke and pet odours. Here’s what we did to address the issue:

To combat the unpleasant odours, we applied a powerful neutralising deodoriser. Using a drill brush, we agitated this into the fabric. Next, we prepared our enzyme cleaning solution, using a slightly stronger ratio than usual, which we then applied and agitated into the fabric as well.

We employed steam extraction as our cleaning method, setting the water pressure to 150 psi. Multiple wet and dry passes were necessary to maximise the removal of contaminants. We started cleaning from the rear, moving to the sides, then the headrest area, and finally, the sitting section.

Once the cleaning was complete, we wiped the surfaces with a fresh white towel to ensure no dirt was transferred. If any dirt was detected, we re-checked and cleaned those areas again.
